We’ve known for some time that as much as a fifth of Mars may have been once covered with water. Now, NASA have announced that there may still be some liquid water flowing on the planet.
This is good news if we humans ever hope to find life there, or to colonize the red planet. One of the scientific building blocks of my new book Colony One Mars is based on the existence of abundant water. This is broken down by the colonists into Hydrogen and Oxygen, and is the primary source for their life support. However, with the discover of flowing water this gives me a few ideas for the follow up Colony Two Mars.
